I wrote about a solider that named a bantam Bertha.
Why was it called the Great War?
It was the war to end all wars.
Why was the bantam alone?
She was pecked by all the other chickens with their sharp beaks and claws the farmer did not have room to take the bantams. the war got closer there was a big blast and only one bantam survived.
Why did the other soldiers tease Arthur?
Arthur felt homesick he was afraid and shy the other soldiers teased his quite country ways.
What made Arthur call his bantam Bertha?
He called the bantam Bertha because that was his nieces name and he missed her.
What is a lucky mascot? Why do you think Bertha
became their mascot?
A mascot is a team good luck charm. Bertha was always there ‘a hen in the trench is worth five in the farm.’
What did Bertha give the soldiers?
A worm brown egg every morning it was a real treat for those most in need. ‘A egg a day keeps the shell shock away.’
How do you know that she gave them this?
It said in the book.
Where did Arthur leave Bertha?
In some poppies by a hedge.
The soldiers said after the war thank you Bertha you may now live in freedom and peace.
Hi Indea-May,
ReplyDeleteWell done for answering all the comprehension questions around the Bantam and the Solider. I love how you made the questions red and the answers black. It made it so much easier for me to make.
Thank you for sharing.
Regards,
Mrs B.
Hi Indea-May
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your questions and answers. It may be helpful to post the link to the book too. I also agree with Mrs B with the great use of using different colours for the questions and then the answers.
